Rehabilitative Exercise

Each session will include instruction on one or two exercises after you are assessed and treated.  Oftentimes it is the exercise itself that is the most potent form of treatment.  In this case, the soft-tissue work that I provide will ensure that you can get into the right position for the exercise without unnecessary strain.

The exercises that I utilize are based on the principles of the most potent and integrative schools of rehabilitation.  These include the Postural Restoration Institute, The Prague School (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization), Functional Range Conditioning, and Functional Movement Systems – primarily.

I will often use Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) as a filter to see what type of exercise is needed based on the weaknesses and strengths of certain relevant muscles that are examined via manual muscle testing.

This page provides an overview of the methods of rehabilitative exercise that I utilize. I almost always use a combination of therapies to help you best achieve your goals. However, if you would like to learn more about a particular system you can find links below for a separate page devoted to each therapy.
